Reviews
I stayed there on a weekday in winter, and there were quite a few guests, but I think most of them were Chinese. I felt uncomfortable, but since I wasn't on a tour, it wasn't really noisy, so I was relieved.
I personally recommend rooms in older buildings as they have a more elegant feel.
The bath is truly a Japanese secret hot springs protection association! It was a bathtub that made me want to give it full marks. The atmosphere was especially great in the open-air bath that was created on the premises for the exclusive use of hotel guests. In particular, Tochini no Yu was a wonderful open-air bath where you could look down on the river from the same perspective as you were in the bathtub.
There's also the idea of crossing a suspension bridge, all of which make you want to go again if you like hot springs.
The meals are delicious and made with local ingredients.
I think the best way to know what's great about this place is to visit and experience it for yourself.
I stayed on a Friday in mid-December for about 18,000 yen per person, including half board. The purpose is to tour the stamps of the Japan Secret Hot Springs Preservation Association. This is one of the inns that I have always wanted to visit someday, and it was the main purpose of this trip to Hokkaido.
① The room was spacious enough and the heating worked well. Another person's review said that there was no brush, but I forgot... WIFI was available and the speed was sufficient. The inside of the building, especially the hallway on the second floor, was a bit dark, cold, and felt lonely.
② The bath is the best! ! That's all I can say. Only three hot springs (Tochini, Donguri, and Katsura) were open during the winter. Therefore, although I checked in before 2:00 p.m., there were already other customers and I was not allowed to enter before 4:00 p.m., but I was able to enter Tochini and Acorn the next day after 7:00. I watched a YouTuber's video beforehand and heard that the temperature was low, but when we arrived, the opposite was true, so the temperature may vary depending on the season and the amount of hot water. By the way, I prefer it lukewarm, and the tocini was the best! ! However, by the time I got home it was around 5pm and it was already pitch dark, and with the snow falling, I ended up walking around without looking at the map and trying to get lost. We received detailed explanations from the host in advance and were given a map, so be careful if you are going at a sensitive time! ! By the way, that was the last time to use the bath, and you cannot visit the hidden hot springs at night. However, both the indoor bath and the open-air bath in the hotel have extremely good spring quality and are the best baths, so there is no problem, and I think you will be satisfied with just that, so if you are an elderly person, please take the hidden bath. I think it's totally possible to take your time and not go around. When I went to the open-air bath just after 2pm, about 10 wild birds (I think they were long-tailed tits...) sang their harmonies for about 5 minutes, and it was a great memory.
③ The food was okay, but considering the price, it was more than delicious and satisfying. The breakfast rice was delicious. I thought the drinks were also reasonably priced.
All in all, all the staff were very kind and I thought it was a really great accommodation. Isn't it quite empty that day? That's what I thought, so I asked an elderly person, but since it's a rattle, I wonder if there's a timing issue as well. . Also, as someone like me who travels quite far away, I thought that this location was quite difficult due to the distance from tourist spots. However, if I were to work for a travel agency, I would be able to handle groups to a certain extent, so if I were to do tours for foreigners on a limited time basis, I would imagine that they would be very satisfied, lol. In any case, it's definitely a place you can stay in, so we highly recommend it! !
Also someday! ! thank you very much.
wonderful hot springs
A small, unexplored location, seven outdoor baths built by the staff themselves in the mountains (each with its own unique character), delicious meals straight from the farm, a fireplace and a suikinkutsu...it's an ideal inn that has everything you need to relax.
Moreover, the accommodation fee is also reasonable. The nearest station schedule is tight, but it's well worth a visit!
The inn is very quiet and the rooms are spacious, so you can spend time forgetting your busy daily life. I arrived around 3 o'clock and immediately went to the bathroom. Perhaps because of the time, there was no one around, so we had the luxury of having the wonderful quality hot spring all to ourselves amidst the deep snow that had fallen early. It was more relaxing than any other accommodation I've been to recently. Everyone at the inn is friendly and kind. As for the meal, the chicken hot pot was so voluminous that I didn't even have enough rice...but the rice was so delicious that I couldn't stop eating it (*´꒳`*)
When I went to the front desk at 6:20 the next morning, there were already two people in line and I was the third person to make a reservation for Tochini no Yu. We ate breakfast and took turns around 8:45. We crossed the suspension bridge and arrived excited. The bath really looks just like the photo! Is it deep enough to accommodate about 3 people? In addition to the log tubs, there are also square tubs. There's also a place to change clothes. It was close to the river and it was great!
One thing I would like to tell women is that brushes are not included in the amenities, so it is better to bring your own.
Stamp book 10 Thank you for this invitation.
It's a waste to stay for one night. You can do it slowly.
Perfect for a hot spring inn that is known as a hidden hot spring! My husband and I were able to soak in the open-air bath without having to bathe. It's our 40th anniversary trip, so I'm happy to have the handmade photo service.
The food is delicious and plentiful.
The indoor bath was also pleasant and I had nothing to say about it. Thank you to all our employees. Sorry to bother you again.
